About
Marissa is a graduate from the University of Ottawa where she completed a double Bachelors degree in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering and Computing Technology. She’s been tutoring since 2015 and discovered a huge passion in helping students achieve their academic goals. Marissa also has a lot of experience with youth outside of tutoring. She was a ski instructor for many years while in high school and currently volunteers with the Canadian Association for Girls in Science (CAGIS). Her career goal is to develop medical devices and prosthetics for children.
She is passionate about building a strong foundation for her students in the subjects that she teaches. As a bilingual speaker in both French and English she wants to make school an enjoyable experience for everyone and wants to inspire them to pursue and achieve their academic goals.
Outside of school and tutoring, Marissa loves animals. She used to volunteer at the Ottawa Humane Society and she has her own dog who she cares for. She loves to stay active by playing sports and hiking. She also spends a lot of her time reading and taking on different projects, like programming her own website.
